Q1: Robbie, what inspired you to start Kaufman Commercial Insurance?


"I grew up between St. Louis and St. Joseph, Missouri—really, both sides of the state at once. Most of that time was spent in the passenger seat of a semi-truck with my grandpa. That’s where I gained a deep respect for truckers and motor carriers. I saw firsthand how tough that industry is—and how quickly it can chew up companies that aren't protected or prepared for the unexpected.


Before my twin son and daughter, Mac and Hannah, were born, I made a decision: the message "you can do anything you set your mind to" wouldn’t just be something I said—it had to be something I lived. I wanted to show them what it looks like to take a leap of faith, to build something meaningful, and to lead with purpose.


Owning a business has always been a dream of mine. I wanted to create a place where like-minded professionals could come together and disrupt an industry—not with gimmicks, but with high standards of service, integrity, and genuine care for clients and our community.

That industry is commercial transportation insurance."
